First off if you want a good experience with this type of python buy a CB baby from a good set of parents. Average size on the retic all depends on it's locality. Mainland species average 17-27ft in length, while retics from Jampea and Kayuadi are only 9-12ft on average still not a small snake but then you have the super dwarfs found in the Lesser Sunda Islands that will max out at 6-8ft!
