Just thought I'd share... Beesly is growing his tail back quite nicely this time. He's already had one shed since the dramatic round two of his tail dropping and all went smoothly...
Actually, I got super nervous since that's the point in which he freaked out the last time and dropped the second portion of his tail... so, when I happend to catch him part way into his shedding I sat with him and helped him the rest of the way. he was really good about it and it almost seemed like he knew I was helping him... he would like lift one foot and I'd pull the skin off and then he'd lift the other... it was like helping a little kid :D
anyways... so the first pick was taken a couple weeks ago, the second picture was taken 2 days later and the third picture was taken about a week later.

I have to say, when I picked the house up to check on him the first day, it really creeped me out again. It's so freaky looking..

Yeah I was really surprised at how the tail grows back. Originally I was under the assumption that it would have the outer color and just slowly extend.

yeah he it took a bit of getting used to... it seems to be growing back pretty thick though... do you think that's a good sign? like that he's still got a lot of nutrients or what not? ???
he does look pretty funny - here he is looking all awkward :)

Here's a new shot of Beesly's butt - just thought you all would love to see it ;)
anyways, its getting pretty big - he's always been a healthy eater, so I guess that's a good thing.

Wow! :o What a transformation! It looks a little alien...or like a poly-wog stuck in there. Great time stamps on the regeneration! The healthy eating should be even healthier right now while it's growing like that. It's really surprising how fast they grow their tails back when they have good care... ;D
Wow, that was quick. I hope Sylvia's tail comes back that fast.

Sooooo... back to the topic at hand...
Beesly's tail is plumping a bit more - and some orangey spots are starting to show up. so its looking better...

They tails growing back nicely. I wonder if it will have the ridges like the rest of the tail once its fully regrown.
I was about 8" away from the monitor trying to see if those are ridges starting - or if it's just a wrinkle in the way the tail is bent, but I think it's ridges starting to make their way.

From what I've seen of regrown tails - they're pretty much smooth - the ribs don't come back the way they were on the original tail and the skin is much softer than originally as well. Which is where Beesly is at... we're just waiting for it to extend a little longer and maybe get a bit more color.

Yeah, its just the way Beesly is sitting... sometimes I worry about that cause I'm affraid it'll just break off ::) I came in to the kids room the other night to find Beesly standing up like the Geico Gecko against the wall of the tank and his freshly grown tail all bent underneath him... but I figure if it hurt him to do that - he probably wouldn't do that... I waited... but He didn't speak top me in a british accent so I let him be ;)

From what I've seen, they start to look a bit more like their actual tail, but the re-grown tail is smoother and softer tot he touch. It won't have the ribs that the original tail had. :-\
I hope the colors spread out though. I once saw a beautiful albino gecko at a show who had a re-grown tail and it was all lopsided and gross looking - like a big bubble! I dunno how THAT happenes, but I do NOT want that happening to my Beesly!
YUCK!
