Thought the chameloeon might be of interest.

But I was also wondering about the turtles. The ad says they can't be left outside during the winter. There is a huge pond/lake near my house with turtles in it. Where do they stay during the winter? If these CL turtles are wild turtles, could I take them and put them in someplace like that? I know the turtles in there now are sliders but I'm not sure if any of them are yellow bellies.

The cham is cute. Almost as old as my two. I hope someone gets it that knows what their getting into... :-\.

As for the yellow-bellied sliders...their care is very similar to the RES...but neither one is a native species. The RES is considered a real pest turtle...but yes...they can be released. They just shouldn't be. It sounds like you know if these were CB animals then the chance of them catching a disease their body is not protected against...the release could kill them. Wouldn't hurt to inquire about them and find out where this person got them. Just do a casual conversation type of Sherlock Holmes questions so you don't make this person think you have an "agenda"... ;).

well if it's bad to release them even if they're WC, I'll just hope she finds someone to adopt them. I didn't know they weren't a native species lol. I don't know much about wild turtles, although I've had sliders as pets before.
I guess someone just put a bunch in the pond then.

They breed pretty easy and with people releasing them they establish themselves pretty well in a surprisingly short amount of time. Their rabbits of the turtle world... ;).
