Rut roh! Check all of the underneath, back corners of things. Let us know when you find the little explorer OK? I'll be worried.

Found!!!

:D he was under the my computer desk, in the place that I have my Computer (not screen) standing on. He barely fit and I spotted him by the tail! I wouldn't be able to find him if he had a shorter tail! Thanks goodness I found that Little Fatty :P

Excellent! Now how is the little scudder getting out and what can we do to prevent Mr. Sneaky from doing it again?

Wow, that must have been scary! Earlier this year, Flitz escaped from his tank about 3 times and the first time he escaped, I didn't notice until the day after when I saw him climbing on the window.

Hooray for that long snapper tail! ;D

IOts not the first time, probably around the fourth. The first time I found his behind my toilet...the second time I found him beside his tank, and the third in my laundry ::)
He's good now, in his tank...
If I put a wover on, I'm afraid that when He will try to come out again he might bump against the top and fall into the waater belly up, and the filter is a little taller than his tank (Its really big LOL) and I wouldn't be able to close it...
Any ideas guys?

I think that if he falls into the water belly up he can right himself. My RES's have been able to.

Can he climb out from the filter~ where is ? Is the water deep enough for him to swim around in?

I always fill his tank up to almost the top. Umm ts around 6-7 inches high. the filter is around 12 inches tall :o
Its for 40 G since he broke his old one and I havnt changed his tank in mroe than a week http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh240/MrsWTownsend/smilies/yes.gif Thats a first :P

If the water is deep enough for him to swim around he can right himself if he gets flipped over. Try it~ put him in upside down and watch him.

What I'm trying to get at is where is the spot that is close enough to the edge of the container fro him to be able to climb out. Can some minor re-arranging of the furniture correct this?

:o Don't you have a locking lid you can put on his enclosure?

Found him! Same place as last time :)
No since he's in a big bucket. The cover I didn't buy since he wouldn't be able to breath...
And before I got him the huge filter, or any filter at all, he still got out! He's too smart ::)

Winter is near, the little one may be looking for a mud bank.

Maybe you should buy a lid, cut a hole in the top, and hot glue some screen on or something. I don't know if that would work or not, but it would be really bad if he got out again and you couldn't find him.

I've used hot glue to glue wire mesh screen onto plastic lids with great success. You could use nylon screen mesh too but you can't put a bulb too close to that and crickets can chew though it.
