So I have 5 cresteds of varying sizes, though still babies. I want to get new enclosures for them so that they will have more room. I was wondering if it is really that hard to determine their sex without using a tool. I have some pictures of what their glands look like, but is that always effective? I want to separate my males soon (if I even have any!)
-Thanks

It really may just be too early to tell. Just keep checking for the hemipenal bulges on the males. It is a pretty obvious way to tell them apart.

Heres another one for you. A lady who recived 2 of my cresteds says they are not eating and has offered everything she can think of to them. She is concerned they might die soon. My guys arn't eating very much either, maybe a cricket or two every now and then... I don't want our babies to die! HELP

1. Manually feed with "Jump-Start." It is a soft food that comes in a tube like toothpaste. It is made by Zilla and available through Big Apple Herp. I use the blunt end of a wooden skewer or the end of a little plastic spoon to put a dab on the gecko's nose. Hold him until he licks it off. I try to do this everyday.

2. Try a "natural" remedy for parasites, such as Parazap. You can mix it into the Jump-Start.

3. If the Parazap doesn't work, step up to Panacur. You can buy it OTC now. I get mine from LLLReptile.

4. Of course, you can take the animal to the vet. They will do a fecal and prescribe some Panacur.

This is assuming the geckos are not under environmental stresses, such as incorrect temps/humidity. Good Luck!

Ah! I hope you've gotten them to eat. >.>

I think it should be obvious whether they are male or female when mature. Not entirely sure though, I keep checking mine to make sure they are still female. ;)
I wouldn't upgrade till I knew how many males I had. Or you could upgrade to a cage for all five and then take out the males when mature then the females will have a nice big cage. :)

Anyways, hope things are going well for your babies!

Thank you so much for those helpful tips. I printed them out and took them to her. I gave them a good look over before i left and as i put one back in the cage it ate a cricket. I found that my guys like the baby food on a large spoon. I think i might try yogurt next.
Thanks again!
