We are in the process of converting the care guides over to The Reptile File Wiki (http://www.thereptilefile.com/wiki/). In doing so we have decided on a standardized formatting (http://www.thereptilefile.com/forum/index.php?topic=1325.0). Our hope is this will allow you to easily pinpoint the exact information you are looking for. I encourage you to have a look around.

Another advantage of the wiki is the ability for those knowledgeable in reptile care to contribute to the care guides. If you are unfamiliar to creating and/or editing wiki content please refer the help page (http://www.thereptilefile.com/wiki/index.php?title=Help:Contents).

I've been filling in the gaps to the ones I've done first, but I'm still having trouble with the photo. I've tried several times but I'm not doing something right.

Again, this was a great idea. I'm all for standardization and other measures that boost credibility. You're the man, Ryan.

I added directions on how to insert pictures to the help page linked above. Hopefully I wrote them so they are easy to understand.

Veronica, I edited the Green Iguana to show you the correct code. It is kind of confusing at first, but easy once you do a couple. For reference a thumbnail picture with description would look like

[[Image:Green_Iguana_Zair.jpg|thumb|Zair - Owned by Author]]

You and I were working on it at the same time...lol.

BUT - your image, and both images I have tried aren't showing. Hmph. I need to go to bed. I'll fool with it tomorrow after court.

You got the code right. When you place the [[Image: ]] tag in the page its just a placeholder. All you need to do is go back to the Green Iguana page and click on the picture link. Clicking on that will bring you to a page where you can upload the picture.

Also the filename you specify in the code doesn't have to match the filename on your computer. When you upload the file using the upload page it will be named correctly. It would be a good idea to use a name that relates to the page. This will make it easier to know which pictures go to what.

For example Green_Iguana_Zair.jpg would be better than just walking_the_floor.jpg. ;)

I was just in and added to the AFT one. Anyone feel free to edit where you see fit. I tend to ramble ;) I think I like this idea though

The wikis are really coming along nicely. The corn snake wiki is a perfect example of an opportunity for individual contributions since this member is no longer a member. There is a signature option to set a stamp in your contribution. I feel funny doing this in many of the other wikis, but my own and for those no longer here - or haven't posted in awhile - it's a good way to show how many people can contribute to making pieces of a wiki a whole.

There is still the "sexing", "conclusion" and needing a photo for the corn wiki - then it's complete. Anyone up for the contributions?

We still need photos for several of the wikis. Personal photos from members will easily complete these. I can get the cockroach ones since I still have the original photos (I hope)...but we could use help with the others.

I was noticing that in Internet Explorer the photos on the right side cause a huge white gap due to the contents bar. I moved the Chinese Water Dragon and Green Iguana to the left after the first paragraph in the introduction.

I never think to look in IE. I'll make sure to get the other photos in the same format then.

If anyone just wants to submit one of their photos for any particular guide you can email them to me, PM them, or let me know which one from your photo album you want to submit. I'll place them in the wiki with your name for the photo.
